About CTR Magazine

Welcome  Friends!

Colorado Trail Riders (CTR) is a group of Christian Equestrians that love the Colorado Outdoors that God has blessed us with and wish to share that with the rest of the world.

CTR has always valued cowboy history and traditions – whether gaining wisdom from our fellow riders about the traditions of old-time cowboys or learning about new world techniques from instructors – our history has instilled in us a curiosity that has served us well throughout the years and provided us with the ability and desire to learn. Our vision includes strengthening the connection within the community with horses and other recreationalists, expanding individual horizons and success whether it be in the saddle or on the ground.

CTR Magazine is a publication for the horse enthusiasts, and applies to every breed but concentrates on Trail Riding, Hunting & Packing and Back Country Camping in Colorado for the beginner to the experts; but you’ll find quite a bit of the information can be universally applied to many different disciplines and geographical areas.

Our goal is to bring you the latest trail, event, workshop and equine related information through well written articles, photos and videos – we are also providing location information via GPS Google Earth (when we can) that you can download and use as you desire. Starting in 2010 we will also be accepting articles, videos & photo’s from our fellow riders.

Riding with CTR and the CTR Community (New for 2010)

CTR welcomes all trail riders on its rides; we are not a club and you do not have to be a member of CTR to participate, just someone who loves to ride. If you would like to be informed of upcoming rides with is or other subscribers, please visit our Discussion Group.

While we ride almost every weekend during the riding season, members organize trail rides nearly every month. In addition to local rides in the Colorado Front Range area, we also ride all over the state of Colorado. These are not your sissy “around the block” trail rides. They may range from a full day in the mountains, dispersed or backcountry camping for the weekend or week-long trips hosted by an equestrian friendly facility.

We have created a Horseback Riding Group on Flickr. This group is a place for all those that ride Colorado trails on horses and want to share your photos & videos with other like-minded folks. We also encourage that you post rides that you’ll be going on and invite other fellow riders, meet new people and come back and tell us about your experiences.

All details about our rides and well as the ability for you to post information about your’s can be found there.
